Kandersteg is the Home of Scout Mountaineering & Should be Visited by Every Scout & Leader. Holidays to the resort can be based in the Scout Centre or use facilities of a nearby hotel, depending upon your budget. (However by basing your holiday away from the KISC you will lose a great deal of the unique atmosphere of the place). A good option for groups would be to use the KISC for acclimatisation before a hut to hut expedition returning for a few days in Kandersteg before heading back home. By using UKAlpine & its qualified leaders you wouldn't be limited to low level walks instead you could access high mountain passes & huts as well as the centre & its activities. We have a wide variety of planned hut & centre based treks that are undertaken at a pace that is accessible to Scouts & leaders so another alternative might be to simply hire a UKAlpine guide for your group. this could cost as little as €130 each day (based on a 6 day contract works out at about £7.00 per person per day).
