Dolomites Mountain Trekking

	DOLOMITES HUT TO HUT TREKKING An 8 day holiday that gives you the opportunity to trek through this incredible area using mainly mountain huts but, using a good comfortable hotel for your first & last nights accommodation. Local Transport, Breakfast, Supper & packed lunches are included in the published price. Insurance and transport to the area is not included. DAY ONE: Arrival day. You will join the group at the overnight hotel. Before your evening meal plans for the week will be discussed allowing you the chance to get to know other members of the group during and after your evening meal. DAY TWO: Leaving our small bag of unwanted luggage at the hotel we will walk through Prags and past the beautiful lake of Pragster Wildsee, gradually gaining height until we reach the Seekofelhutte. A relaxing evening meal at the hut. DAY THREE: From the Seekofelhutte we traverse along the flanks of Hohe Gaisle until we reach Platweisse & the Durrensteinhutte, our overnight accommodation, with its magnificent views of the Mt Crystallo Range. DAY FOUR: An early start takes us to the top of Durrenstein with its panoramic views. If weather permits our descent allows us to take in its awe inspiring pyramids. Afternoon takes us up & onto Mt Piano an open air museum of the 1st World War. Its trenches & dug outs a silent reminder of the struggle that took place there. A warm welcome & an appetising supper awaits us at the Rifugio Bosi DAY FIVE: After an easy descent to Lago Anturno we begin our climb up to the Drei Zinnen. These peaks are the image usually chosen to portray the Dolomites. Today we have time to walk round and past them taking in the 1st WW gun galleries and easy via ferratta en route to our overnight hut the Comici Refugio. DAY SIX: An exciting walk through the mountains takes us to the Kruezbergpasse and its impressive mountain defenses. From here it's an easy walk through woodland and flower filled meadows until we reach our last overnight mountain destination the Alpe Nemeshutte. Here we can sit with a welcome drink and watch the summer sun set behind the mighty Dolomites before venturing inside for supper and music. DAY SEVEN: A relaxing walk down the mountain through woods and fields with views of the mountains we crossed. Arriving at a village in the valley bottom local transport will take us to our final destination hotel. Don't miss the chance of some Kaisersmarren and a beer before you relax for the evening. DAY EIGHT: After a good nights sleep & a relaxing breakfast we prepare to leave for the airport or railway station. You may however, wish to continue your holiday elsewhere, UKAlpine will endeavour to assist if required.

AIR & RAIL TRAVEL TO THE START POINT With low cost flights being so easy & cheap to buy, plus some clients now preferring to travel by rail or coach, clients usually prefer to book their own transport. Venice, Verona & Innsbruck are the nearest airports for this trip and an easy, reliable rail transfer from the Airports to the local station exists. We will endeavour to assist you in any way we can with your transport arrangements. An up to date fact sheet, with latest rail & flight information will be available early 2009.
